About the Author
 

Firuz Zare received his BSc (Eng) degree in Electronic Engineering, his MSc degree in Power Engineering and his PhD degree in Power Electronics in 1989, 1995 and 2001, respectively. He has spent several years in industry as a team leader and development engineer where he was involved in different electronics and power electronics projects. He won a Student Paper Prize at AUPEC conference in 2001 and received a Symposium Fellowship Award by the Australian Academy of Technological Science and Engineering in 2001. He also received faculty Excellence Award in Research as an early career academic from Queensland University of Technology in 2007, John Madsen Medal for the best journal of Electrical and Electronics Engineers in 2007 and the Vice Chancellor's Research Fellowship Award in 2009. He has published over 135 journal and conference papers and technical reports in the area of Power Electronics.  He has been invited as a reviewer and technical chair of national and international conferences and has presented several seminars and workshops.
